Overview

This one-week program is designed to develop strong technical ability, advanced musical skills, thorough knowledge of repertoire and healthy practice habits. Students will participate in master classes, technique classes, guitar ensemble, and style and performance practice workshops. The six-day workshop will culminate in a concert of student performances.

Guitar Workshop faculty will include Anne Waller, senior lecturer in guitar, Northwestern University Bienen School of Music; Mark Maxwell, coordinator of guitar studies, DePaul University School of Music, and guitar instructor, Northwestern Music Academy; Elena Papandreou, faculty at the University of Macedonia; Brian Torosian, faculty at Northeastern Illinois University; and An Tran, faculty at Northern Illinois University and Roosevelt University.
